Police in Newbury have warned all van drivers in the area to be more vigilant, after it was revealed that there has been an increase in the number of vans which have had items stolen from them recently.
In the latest crime, a van in Hungerford was left needing van insurance claims, after it was damaged by thieves stealing from it.
The criminals forced their way into the van via the front and rear doors, causing damage to the van in the process, stealing two drills and accessories from the rear of the vehicle.
Neighbourhood officer Pc Claire Drewitt said to the Newbury Today that work vans are increasingly targeted by thieves because of the potential for high value loots.
"We'd like to remind everyone to empty their vans at night and to be extra vigilant at this time. We would like to hear from anyone who has any information," she added.
Last week, the BBC reported that farmers in Northern Ireland were also becoming the victims of tool theft, with £2 million paid out in the last year in insurance claims.
